Dundee Honey Brown Lager review

Your rating: None Average: 5 (3 votes)

Tonight I am reviewing a Honey Brown Lager from the Dundee Brewery. I ended up giving this a 3 out of 5. It had a good refreshing front end taste, and a kick ass bottle, but the aftertaste was bitter, and the price was a bit up there as well.

Beer review comments rant

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

It seems that some people just like to leave rude comments on people's Youtube videos. NUKE has had some harsh comments coming from some people who tell him that his beer reviews are wrong. If you think you're such an expert, do your own damn beer reviews. NUKE is a regular, average guy who enjoys drinking beers. He never claimed to be an expert, nor will he ever claim to be. So what that he doesn't use the "proper" glass, or use the expert speak when he's describing the beers. He's using terminology that he is used to, what he tastes in the beers to the best of his ability. Again, if you so-called "experts" want to do your own reviews, then do them. NUKE is doing an "average Joe's" type of review, for those who don't know or want to know the "weight" and such of the beer. If you like his beer review videos, then feel free to keep watching, if you dont like them, just ignore them.

Opera 9.5 Review

Your rating: None
Today the Opera Team released the newest version of their Opera Web Browser, 9.5. I figured I would just ignore the news move on, and continue with my use of Firefox, but after reading some reviews I decided this release would be a good time to test out the browser for pretty much the first time, I had installed once before but quickly un-installed when I never used it. I downloaded installed, and started messing with the options after that. Outside of the ever popular speed dial, Opera 9.5 has added some new features like syncing bookmarks, quick find and others (full release notes here). Opera has has built in Bit torrent client, IRC client, Mail Client, and a note taking tool.
All of these features built in is great if one cares for a one stop shop for checking email, chatting, taking notes for research or downloading torrents, granted they are the most customizable things, but they get the job done.
Other features in the browser (not new to this update, but seeing as how the market share for the browser is low, and this is my first real time with it, I'll mention them) include the ability to tile, cascade windows in the browser, great for taking notes and still having the browser visible, or for chatting and surfing at the same time. Opera also has a voice browsing option, that I did not get to test because it didn't seem to work with this new release.
The other thing many Opera fan hail is the speed, and light ,weight footprint of the browser. I can say the browser is fast (although it lags on some pages), the memory usage is comparable to the upcoming Firefox 3 (Opera is using about 78K worth of RAM while Firefox is around 119K). I wouldn't take much stock in those numbers because my firefox running close around 20 addons, while the opera browser is running without any "Widgets" as opera calls them. I also haven't seen any pages that have problems with rendering in Opera, though I only tested well traveled web pages.
Overall I'd say Opera is a great browser for general web surfing, and an excellent all in one portal for those people who just need a simple IRC or bit torrent client. I still don't see it as customizable or having the expendability of firefox. Opera will more than likely remain on my desktop, and will be used at times, I can see myself using the tiled windows and notes for blogging. But as far as my mine browser I still see myself using firefox full time.

Miller Chill

alt="miller chill" width="209" height="194" align="left" />                                                       Well I have to say that I am not impressed with the Miller brewery for this introduction to the world of beer!! First let me state that I am a huge fan of a Corona with a lime wedge on a hot summer day, but this ...umm... "beer" falls short of my expectations.

First let me start with the flavor...It's all lime and nothing else!!! Then there is the fact that I'm not so sure if that is lime I'm tasting!! And after I drank two of them it started to taste a little more agreeable, but that was the same point where my belly told me "DUDE!!!! you shove one more of those down here I will ruin you're nite!!!!!".

The other thing that just erks me to no end is that they have the nerve to call this a Chelada-style beer!!! There is no such thing!!! Chelada is a beer that has had something added to it, like a lime, tomato juice, or a chili pepper. In other words it is a drink made with beer. To say that this is a "style" of beer is like calling a bloody Mary a type of vodka!!!

Well I'm done ranting now,, and it's time to turn my attention to something worth drinking!!! So until next time enjoy!!!

          Thanks! NUKE1.net

Just in case you have to visit the Miller Chill website

Pilsner Urquell

Your rating: None

Pilsner

First brewed in 1842 in the Czech Republic by Josef Groll, Pilsner Urquell has set the standards for which all pilsners that followed would be judged. After all, it should since this is the the true original pilsner beer!

Brewed with Bohemian and Moravian two row malts, and the Saz hops from the Zatec region of Bohemia, this beer is true quality. When you first poor it into the glass you will see a crystal clear golden color with a lite head. The flavor is light to medium bodied, with a nice mild malty sweetness with a sharp, crisp hoppy finish that lingers slightly. Very refreshing!!

I highly recommend trying this beer, both for the refreshing drink-ability, and the fact that this is a beer that has had a serious impact on the brewing traditions since it's beginning. So give it a try, and until next time, enjoy!

Slavutich Beer

Your rating: None

Our fearless leader nuke came to me the other day and asked "Dave!! I just got this fancy import beer today and want to do a review!!  Do you mind???"  I said sure,  his enthusiasm  was hard to resist! So here is his review of a questionable beer.

I recently decided to try a new beer . The name of the beer is Slavutich . It is a Ukrainian beer , former state of the USSR . I poured the beer into a clear glass to get a good look at the beer and to my opinion it looked like it was very cloudy almost like a wheat beer. The scent from the beer was very bitter like a wheat beer. I was kind of reluctant to drink it from the smell but I tried it any way the first taste was like ... well lets just say bottled ASS. Dude this is the worst beer i have ever tasted It was like warm soured butter. I was actually contemplating not drinking the rest if it ! But being the avid beer drinker I am I continued . Lets just say bitter beer face is how I was feeling , And I could not continue. I would NOT recommend this beer unless you like the taste of ass.

                                           yours truly,

                                              NUKE
